Below are the Terms and Conditions of Entry for the International Women's Day Art Prize 2021. By entering the Art Prize you are accepting the Terms and Conditions of entry.
Who can enter?
You must be a female, aged 12 years and over and live, work or study in the City of Randwick.
How do you enter?
Your entry to the 2021 Women's Art Prize will be registered once you have completed this online entry form. Entries close at 5pm on Monday 22 February 2021.
Your entry must be delivered to the Randwick Community Centre, Munda Street, Randwick between 2pm and 6pm on Monday 1 March 2021.
There is a limit of one entry per person and late entries will not be accepted.
Randwick City Council is authorised to display your entry in the Randwick Community Centre and if your entry is selected, at the Lionel Bowen Library Gallery for the duration of the exhibition.
What type of art can I enter?
Visual art only can be entered. Artworks may be of any medium including: drawing, painting, photography, collage, computer generated, sculpture or installation and must be a recent original work by you. Please note, there is no theme for this art prize. A selection of the best works will be exhibited at the Lionel Bowen Library Gallery from Tuesday 16 March to Friday 30 April 2021. You will be notified by council staff after the award presentation if your artwork has been selected to be displayed at the Lionel Bowen Library Gallery.
How big can my entry be?
Maximum size of work accepted is 1 square metre including the frame and no more than 15 kilograms in weight. Paintings on canvas need not be framed but must be properly stretched with D-rings or screw eyes screwed into stretched sides 10cm from the top.
Works on paper (including photographs) must be framed in timber or aluminium behind glass and be secured in the frame with staples (or equivalent) and tape. The backing must be appropriate material eg foam core and must have D-rings or screw eyes for hanging positioned 10cm from the top.
Artwork not suitably prepared will not be accepted.

Will my artwork be safe?
All care is taken with your artwork however, Council cannot be held responsible for any theft or damage. All responsibility remains with the artist. Council does not insure works in transit, storage or exhibition.
How do I get my entry back?
All works must be collected from the Randwick Community Centre on Friday 12th March between 2pm and 6pm. Bring the receipt you have been given to make this an easy process.
Randwick City Council will not be responsible for works not collected on this date.
Artworks to be exhibited at the Lionel Bowen Library Gallery will be transported to the gallery by Council staff.
What happens if I win?
All entrants are invited to attend the awards event at the Randwick Community Centre, Munda Street, Randwick on Saturday 6th March from 10am to 11am. An invitation is extended to family and friends to attend (the morning tea will be dependent on current COVID restrictions in place).
You will be contacted if your work is shortlisted. We encourage you to attend if you have been shortlisted.
The judges' decisions are final and no correspondence will be entered into.
EXHIBITION TIMETABLE FOR 2021
Exhibition dates from 6 March to 30 April 2021 (includes the Randwick Community Centre and the Lionel Bowen Library Gallery)
RANDWICK COMMUNITY CENTRE - Exhibition is open for viewing from:
Saturday 6 March, 10am to 1pm - and includes the Awards Ceremony at 10am followed by a morning tea at 11am (the morning tea will be dependent on current COVID restrictions in place).
Monday 8, Tuesday 9 and Wednesday 10 March from 2pm to 4pm and Thursday 11 March from 4pm to 6pm.
LIONEL BOWEN LIBRARY GALLERY - Exhibition is open for viewing from:
Tuesday 16 March to Friday 30 April (closed Easter and ANZAC Day) during library opening hours 10am to 9pm.
